Terms of service

Effective date: September 24, 2026

Thank you for using Multiplayer. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Multiplayer. Each section starts with a short, plain-English summary. The summaries are there to help and are not legally binding; the full text below each one is.

A. Definitions

Short version: These terms have specific meanings throughout the agreement.

  1. “Account” means your Multiplayer account, which you create by signing in with a Google or Microsoft account.

  2. “Agreement” means these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies we publish and refer to here.

  3. “AI Output” means drafts, summaries, labels, briefings, action items, meeting notes and any other content the Service generates for you.

  4. “Beta Features” means features we identify as beta, preview, early access or similar.

  5. “Connected Accounts” means the email, calendar, meeting and other accounts you connect to Multiplayer.

  6. “Multiplayer,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean Multiplayer, Inc.

  7. “Service” means the Multiplayer web application, desktop applications and related services, including Beta Features.

  8. “Team Account” means a subscription shared by members of the same organization.

  9. “You” and “your” mean the person using the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, “you” also means that organization.

  10. “Website” means multiplayer.work and its subdomains, including ai.multiplayer.work.

  11. “Your Content” means the content of your Connected Accounts and anything else you provide to the Service.

B. Your account

Short version: You must be 18 or older. You sign in with Google or Microsoft, and you’re responsible for keeping that account secure.

  1. Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you accept these Terms on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

  2. Sign-in and security. You sign in to Multiplayer with your Google or Microsoft account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under your Account. Tell us promptly at hello@multiplayer.work if you learn of any unauthorized use.

  3. One person per account. Each Account is for one person. You may not share your sign-in with others.

  4. Team Accounts. The owner of a Team Account controls its membership and billing and is responsible for its members’ use of the Service. Each member chooses which of their own data is shared with the team.

  5. Sanctions and export laws. You may not use the Service in violation of U.S. export control or sanctions laws, or if you are, or act on behalf of, a person on a U.S. government restricted-party list.

  6. Third-party services. Your Connected Accounts are provided by third parties such as Google and Microsoft, and your use of them remains subject to their terms.

C. Acceptable use

Short version: Use Multiplayer lawfully. If you take notes on a meeting, telling the other participants is up to you.

  1. Lawful use. You must use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws. You may not use it to send spam or unlawful messages, to harass anyone, or to infringe anyone’s rights.

  2. Accounts you may access. You may only connect accounts that you own or are authorized to use.

  3. Protecting the Service. You may not interfere with or disrupt the Service, try to access it by means other than the interfaces we provide, circumvent usage limits or security measures, or copy, scrape or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows. You may not use the Service to build a competing product.

  4. Meetings and recording. When you use Multiplayer to take notes on a meeting, you are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to recording or transcribing conversations, including laws that require the consent of every participant. You are responsible for notifying participants and obtaining any consent those laws require. When you use the desktop app, no notetaker appears in the meeting, and Multiplayer does not notify participants on your behalf.

D. AI features

Short version: Multiplayer drafts and summarizes using AI. It can make mistakes, so review its work before you rely on it. Nothing is sent without you.

  1. What the AI does. Multiplayer uses artificial intelligence to sort email, draft messages, summarize meetings, track commitments and produce briefings.

  2. Accuracy. AI Output may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing AI Output before you rely on it or share it.

  3. You send, not us. Multiplayer does not send email on your behalf without your review. You are responsible for every message you send, including messages based on AI Output.

  4. Your AI Output. As between you and Multiplayer, AI Output generated for you belongs to you.

E. Your content and confidentiality

Short version: Your content is yours. We use it only to run Multiplayer for you. We don’t sell it, don’t train AI on it, and don’t read it unless you ask for help or the law requires it.

  1. Ownership. You retain all rights in Your Content.

  2. License to us. You grant Multiplayer a limited license to access, process, store and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including the features you choose to use. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your Account, except for copies we must keep by law.

  3. Confidentiality. We treat Your Content as confidential and protect it with at least the care we use for our own confidential information, and never less than reasonable care.

  4. Who can access it. Multiplayer personnel do not access Your Content except: (a) when you ask us for help and give permission; (b) to investigate a security incident or abuse of the Service; or (c) when required by law.

  5. No sale and no AI training. We never sell Your Content, and we never use it to train AI models.

  6. Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

F. Desktop app

Short version: You can install the desktop app on your own devices while you have an account. It updates itself.

  1. License. If you download a Multiplayer desktop app, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use it on devices you own or control, for as long as you have an Account and comply with these Terms.

  2. Updates. The app may download and install updates automatically.

  3. Restrictions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or reverse engineer the app, except as the law expressly allows.

G. Our intellectual property

Short version: We own Multiplayer itself. You get to use it, but not copy it.

  1. Our rights. Multiplayer and its licensors own all rights in the Service, the Website and their design, software and content, other than Your Content and your AI Output. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms.

  2. Trademarks. You may not use Multiplayer’s name, logos or trademarks without our written permission. Contact hello@multiplayer.work for our trademark guidelines.

H. Beta features

Short version: Beta features are early. They may change or disappear, and they aren’t covered by the same guarantees.

  1. Subject to change. Beta Features may change or be discontinued at any time without notice, and may not be supported.

  2. Use at your own risk. Beta Features are provided as they are, may be less reliable than the rest of the Service, and are not subject to the same commitments. You use them at your own risk.

  3. Confidentiality. If we give you access to a Beta Feature that is not public, you agree to keep non-public information about it confidential.

I. Pricing, trial and payment

Short version: Start with 14 days free. After that your plan renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do anytime in settings. If you barely used Multiplayer in a billing period, ask and we’ll refund it.

  1. Pricing. Current prices are published at multiplayer.work/pricing. You may pay monthly, quarterly or annually. Quarterly and annual plans are billed in full at the start of each term, at a discount.

  2. Free trial. New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged. If you don’t cancel, your paid subscription starts when the trial ends, using the billing option you chose.

  3. Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, for the same length of period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You authorize us to charge your payment method at each renewal. For annual plans, we will email you before each renewal.

  4. Price changes. Your price stays the same for any period you have already paid for. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change applies at your next renewal.

  5. Refunds. Fees are non-refundable except as stated here. If you made little or no use of the Service during a billing period, ask us at hello@multiplayer.work and we will refund the fee for that period. We decide in good faith what counts as little or no use. We don’t take money for work we didn’t do.

  6. Team Accounts. Pricing for Team Accounts is agreed in writing. Invoiced fees are due within 30 days of the invoice date, in U.S. dollars. Overdue amounts may accrue interest at 1% per month or the highest rate the law allows, whichever is lower.

  7. Taxes. Prices do not include taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase, other than taxes on our income.

  8. Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until it is resolved.

J. Cancellation, termination and your data

Short version: Cancel anytime from settings. You can disconnect your accounts or delete your data whenever you like, and we delete it within 90 days of you deleting your account.

  1. Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@multiplayer.work. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.

  2. Your data. You can disconnect your Connected Accounts or delete your data from your account settings at any time. When you delete your Account, we delete your data within 90 days, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Copies in encrypted backups are deleted on our regular backup cycle.

  3. Termination by us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, or if we must do so to comply with the law or protect the Service or other users. We may also end the Service for any other reason with at least 30 days’ notice, in which case we will refund any fees you prepaid for the period after termination.

  4. Survival. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including those on ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity.

K. Communications

Short version: We’ll contact you by email. Legal notices to us must be in writing.

  1. Electronic communications. You agree to receive communications from us electronically, by email or through the Service, and agree that they satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing.

  2. Legal notices. Legal notices to Multiplayer must be sent in writing to hello@multiplayer.work, with “Legal notice” in the subject line.

  3. Support. We provide support by email and through the Service.

L. Disclaimer of warranties

Short version: We work hard on Multiplayer, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees.

The Service, the Website and all AI Output are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that AI Output will be accurate or complete.

M. Limitation of liability

Short version: If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the past year.

  1. Excluded damages. To the extent the law allows, Multiplayer will not be liable for any lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, or for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, however they arise, including from your use of or inability to use the Service, AI Output, or unauthorized access to your data.

  2. Cap. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100.

  3. Application. These limits apply whether or not we were told such damages were possible, and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

N. Indemnity

Short version: If your use of Multiplayer gets us into legal trouble, you’ll cover it.

You agree to defend and indemnify Multiplayer against any claims, liabilities and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or your use of the Service, including recording or transcribing meetings and messages you send. We will promptly notify you of any claim and give you reasonable cooperation, at your expense.

O. Changes to these Terms

Short version: If we make material changes, we’ll email you at least 30 days before they take effect.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept them. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before they take effect.

P. General terms

  1. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and Multiplayer agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the City and County of San Francisco, California.

  2. Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them, including in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

  3. Severability and waiver. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.

  4. Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Multiplayer about the Service, and replace any prior agreements on the same subject. A Team Account may also be covered by a separate written agreement, which controls if it conflicts with these Terms.

  5. Questions. Questions about these Terms? Email hello@multiplayer.work.
