Multiplayer vs Serif
Which AI Assistant is right for you?
Multiplayer and Serif AI both manage your inbox and draft replies in your voice. But they take fundamentally different approaches. Serif is built around email delegation — you can forward entire threads to your AI assistant and it handles the conversation. Multiplayer is built around the full email-and-meeting workflow — inbox management, meeting prep, notes, and follow-ups in one tool.
Here’s how they compare so you can decide which approach fits how you work.
The core difference
Serif’s approach: Email delegation. Forward a thread to assistant@serif.ai and it handles the conversation autonomously. Upload documents (PDFs, pricing sheets) to train a persistent knowledge base. Serif goes deep on email but doesn’t touch meetings.
Multiplayer’s approach: Email + meetings as one workflow. Inbox triage, draft replies, pre-meeting contact research, meeting notes, and follow-up email drafts — all connected. Multiplayer covers more surface area but doesn’t have Serif’s email delegation or document training features.
Feature-by-feature comparison

Where Multiplayer Has the Edge
Complete meeting workflow
Serif is an email-only tool. It has no meeting notes, no transcription, no pre-meeting prep, and no follow-up drafts from calls. If meetings are a significant part of your work, Multiplayer covers that entire workflow: research attendees before the call, capture notes during, and draft follow-up emails after. That’s a workflow Serif simply doesn’t address.
No email volume caps
Serif’s Essentials plan processes up to 2,000 emails per month. If you receive more than that, you need to upgrade to the Pro plan ($45–50/mo). Multiplayer’s $30/month plan has no email volume limits — it processes as many emails as you receive.
SOC 2 Type II completed
Multiplayer has completed its SOC 2 Type II audit, meaning security practices have been independently verified over time. Serif’s SOC 2 certification is still in progress (marked with an asterisk on their website). If completed security audits matter for your organization’s vendor approval process, Multiplayer is a step ahead.
Where Serif has the edge
Email delegation via handoff
Serif’s standout feature is "Handoff": forward an email thread to it's assistant and it autonomously handles the conversation until resolved. This is genuinely different from any other AI email tool — it’s not just drafting a reply for you to review; it’s managing the entire back-and-forth. If you have repetitive email conversations (scheduling, vendor coordination, standard inquiries), this can save significant time.
Custom knowledge base training
Serif lets you upload company documents, pricing sheets, SOPs, and other materials to train your AI assistant. This means drafts can include accurate pricing, reference your company’s specific policies, and use the correct terminology for your industry. Multiplayer currently learns from your writing style but doesn’t yet learn from document uploads.
Who is each product best for?
Multiplayer
Professionals with meeting-heavy schedules who want email AND meeting management in one tool. If pre-meeting prep, automatic notes, and follow-up drafts would save you meaningful time, Multiplayer covers that entire workflow.
Serif AI
Professionals who are primarily email-heavy and want deep email delegation. If you handle a lot of repetitive email conversations and want an AI that can autonomously manage threads, Serif’s Handoff feature is unique. Also a good fit if you want to train your assistant on company-specific documents.
